Gord Downie x All Nations Volleyball Team Charity collaboration shirt
0002-1001-7002-S-SVSThe All-Nations Indigenous Volleyball Showcase is a high-performance national Indigenous sport and cultural exchange initiative designed to strengthen relationships among Indigenous athletes, coaches, and communities in Canada and Aotearoa (New Zealand).
In addition to competition, the showcase emphasized cultural exchange, mutual learning, and relationship-building between Indigenous communities.
The inaugural All-Nations Indigenous Volleyball Showcase held in July 2024 brought together four “All-Nations” Canada teams. In 2025, the event expanded to include six “All-Nations” Canada teams.
This year two All-Nations teams will attend Aotearoa for a series of international volleyball friendlies. While in Aotearoa, All-Nations athletes will be participating in Maori ceremony, living in traditional longhouses and deepening the connection between sport and Indigenous culture.
Gord Downie was well known for passion, work and efforts to further reconciliation between indigenous non-indigenous communities in Canada. Working with the family of Chanie Wenjack and the Marten Falls First Nations he retold the story of Chanie Wenjack in the “Secret Path” project. This work led to the creation of the Downie Wenjack Fund to further and support reconciliation.
The shirt features The All-Nations logo on the front which is created by combining all logos of the Indigenous sports bodies.
The 24 feathers represent the 24 athletes competing and their nations, incorporated with the feather from Gord’s purple hat.
Proceeds from the sale of this shirt will go to the All Nations team to support their travel and participation in the 2026 event in New Zealand.
